Casual wedding

Last weekend I attended a wedding at the gorgeous place – Frederikshøj in Aarhus. It was a great day, where I met a lot of new and kind people and were served the most delicious gourmet food and wine.

I was in casual clothes mood – normally I don’t wear jeans at weddings, but that was what I was in the mood for and since the happy couple had announced that the party would be totally informal I went for the casual but chic look. So I wore a pair of grey jeans, a white peplum top, new jewellery and chic’ed it up with my leo strappy sandals.

A pop of colour

Keeping a good basic wardrobe in black, white, grey & nude colours – a wardrobe that is super versatile and timeless is a great way to stay stylish and play it safe at a low budget. However, to avoid it that it gets too dull and safe a pop of colour is the perfect way to ad a personal touch and stay updated on latest trends.

If you invest in colourful accessories, but keep your wardrobe neutral you don’t have to change the entire wardrobe every season.

Leo Love

It gets me every time – that leo print. I can’t help it, I just never get tired of it – it’s always a winner in my book. Especially leo accessories as bags, clutches and shooooes with leo-print. IM SOLD. A secret obsession?, perhaps, except now its not a secret anymore :)

The last once from ZARA I bought the second I saw them  - just couldn’t resist :)

Do you have an obsession to you pick again and again?

Cheap leather jackets!

Leather jackets are one of the rare items that are always cool and stay hot year after year. But the look of the iconic jacket changes every season, so having a few different styles in your wardrobe is a not a bad idea. I always wear my leather jackets during spring and fall as they are perfect “season transition” items.

This spring  i updated my leather collection with a white jacket from ZARA, that is a big oversize with a biker cut. I bought it on sale and I love it.

Another style I really like this season is the “lacer-cut” leather jacket from Helmut Lang. Unfortunately the original is out of my reach money-wise, but I found this one from Oasis that is still in a good quality and on half price.

Sorry for the small pic – it was not possible to make it bigger, but if you would like to update your jacket wardrobe as well and take a closer and bigger look on the piece above, you can check out this site :

Boyfriend chic

Im crazy about boyfriend jeans at the moment and my favorite combo is definitely to pair them with a set of stilettos to ad a feminine chic touch. Destroyed boyfriend jeans with strappy stilettos – in my world thats a win.

What is your spring obsession?

Ideas for Mother’s day

So Mother’s day is approaching. I don’t really think too much about it and sometimes I even forget, but that’s really not fair to my sweet mommy, so this year Im gonna spoil her with these golden tear-drop studs from may own label. I already know she likes them a lot, so I just hope she will feel special wearing them.

You can find them on www.veravega.com if you want a pair for your mommy as well – we ship worldwide :) For other great ideas on Mother’s day you can check out the link below (this is for those of you who understands Danish) http://www.trendasale.dk/nfo/mors-dag-2013. Have a great day you all, and remember to make your moms feel special on Mother’s day <3

High-end VS High-street #2

I have a crush on Alexander. I have had a crush on Mr. Wang ever since I laid my eyes on his lamb skin studded bags. Ohh they are classic, casual cool and just all the words I like associated with my wardrobe. This season this bag in on the top of my wishlist.

Alexander wang 895$

I love the dusted colour – it is simply perfect for summer. However, if you haven’t got the money for a real Wang like the one above or this..

There are some high street opportunities you can turn to instead. Nasty Gal has actually made a very cool Wang’ish bag:

Even though I think that its great that there are more affordable possibilities to acquire cool designer items, I must also admit that Im a bit dubious about the concept from time to time. I think it is okay for high street companies to get inspired by the high end designers (like in this case), but complete counterfeits or knock offs Im not a fan off. I think it is disrespectful of the creative spirit – the designer – behind the original design.

Sure I like the back by Nasty Gal above, but I must admit that I must own a real Wang at some point. The feeling you get from wearing real designer quality is priceless in some cases – and in my book Wang is such a case :)

The ones that got away

Ahh I was so stupid not to jump at it as soon as Isabel Marant created the most perfect wedge boots in pony fur. They are simply perfect because you can use them both day and night. They are comfartable to walk in with the wedge heel and not too dressy for day outfits, but still soo cool they are also wearable going out in the evening as well. But I just did not have the money at the time, so I thought to myself that I would wait until the sale season.

Of course they are sold out everywhere now – and I mean EVERYWHERE (I’ve checked) – so I guess my best option to ever acquire these beauties is to visit Tredsales.dk once in a while and hope someone has gotten tired of hers and buy them second-hand. If any of you have them in a 38 (EU) and don’t want them anymore – please let me know :)

High End VS High Street #1

Hi everyone

I just wrote a blog post on Vera Vega’s blog – you can check out the original post here

At Vera Vega we are big fans of affordable fashion, which is also the reason why we make jewellery at prices most people can afford, but that still looks edgy, chic and super cool. The same holds true for the many great high street companies that have gained popularity the last years. My own favourites are ZARA, Topshop, COS and the latest project by H&M; &Other Stories looks very promising.

The high street brands are often inspired by the high-end and established designers and that is sometimes very evident in their designs. The great thing is that we then have the opportunity to acquire the latests trends and must-haves at affordable prices. And remember, buying high-street sometimes makes it possible to invest in really great designer items once in while :)

Which of the above jeans would you buy?

Happy Sunday

Happy Sunday you all

I just have a few minutes this morning to write a post before the whole happy family are coming to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. A good excuse to eat a lot of cake. Yeah :)

I just looked out the window here in Århus and its snowing…again. Ohh I like snow, but I like Summer and Spring more than anything else, so please snow go away.

However, a good way to get into the mood of spring is to browse the Internet for fashion finds, and I just discovered this Mulberry spring perfect on Trendsales.  I think it would be a perfect partner for a pair of jeans shorts and a white or light grey tank. What do you think?
